Policies
Website Services Package
-Contract required stating that the terms and policies on this website have been read and understood.
-Maximum of five pages per site.
-Additional pages may be billed at the rates in the pricing section above, at JDIT's discretion.
-Billing cycle is every three months, in advance.
-For sites originated and designed by JDIT, website design, domain name, and content remains the property of JDIT for the first two years after development.
-Draft version of website generally available for viewing within 30 calendar days of receiving design and content requirements from customer. For more complex designs, additional time may be required.
-Client to provide JDIT with all data needed to complete web site, including text, company logos and photos.
-Maximum of five website changes per month included, to be made within one to five working days of receiving each request and required information. Additional change requests over the limit will generally be made free of charge, unless the requests occur on a consistent basis. In this case the extra changes may be billed at the hourly PHP/MySQL development rate in the pricing section above.
-For a minimum of 2 years, JDIT may display a small “Web Services By JDIT”, or similar equivalent, logo link in footer of all pages within the site that is linked to jamiedowell.com.
-Payments to be made by company check.
PHP/MySQL Development
-Billed hourly.
-Maximum of five pages per site.
-Source code is the property of the client after payment has been made and can be provided upon request.
-Existing software available under various open source licenses (eg GNU) may be used in whole or in part and customized, adapted, or otherwise modified to meet the requirements of the application.
-Existing software available under non-open source licenses may be required in whole or in part and customized, adapted, or otherwise modified (if licenses permit) to meet the requirements of the application. The client is responsible for the costs of these applications, which will be disclosed before costs are incurred.
-Development lifecycle time varies greatly by application, but a reasonably accurate estimate will be made beforehand if requested by the client.
-Client to provide JDIT with all data needed to develop the application, including full requirements, vision, and expectations.
-Other languages / technologies may be utilized to meet the requirements of the application, at the developer's discretion.
-For a minimum of 2 years after the application has been developed, JDIT may display a small “Web Services By JDIT”, or similar equivalent, logo link in footer of all pages within the application that is linked to jamiedowell.com.
-Payments to be made by company check.
Mail List Manager / Email Marketing Package
-Contract required stating that the terms and policies on this website have been read and understood.
-Software utilized is the property of JDIT. Client will be provided with one set of login credentials to the system.
-JDIT will provide initial customization and setup, such as HTML email template creation / customization, HTML subscription form generation, and autoresponder setup.
-Billing cycle is every three months, in advance.
-This service is not dependant on the client purchasing web services (ie domain and website) from JDIT. Clients can use their existing domain name and email address, whether owned or not (ie Yahoo or Hotmail), with this system.
-System setup usually performed within 15 calendar days of required content, such as email content, email address list, and template requirements, being received .
-Client to provide JDIT with all data needed for system setup.
-Pricing is based on number of email addresses contained in system, or number of messages sent out per month, as stated in the chart above. Whichever threshold (addresses or messages) is reached first will be used in calculation of pricing. Because billing is in advance, adjustments may be made quarterly to properly reflect usage over the previous quarter.
-For cases where subscription lists exceed 1000 email addresses, or monthly messages exceed 10000, negotiations will be made between JDIT and the client on charges. Prices may be based on these factors, or other factors such as bandwidth usage.
-The system is setup under the domain name jamiedowell.com. Links within emails may point to jamiedowell.com, with auto-forwarding to the proper link, in order to maintain link click statistics. System administration access is through the jamiedowell.com domain. Initial client subscription will also be performed through the jamiedowell.com domain, although branding of the subscription pages can be customized as required.
-Double-opt in subscription procedures are required. This means the client will subscribe using a web form, then click a link in an email to confirm their desire to subscribe. This ensures that all email addresses are valid and that all subscribers did so themselves. It also ensures compliance with SPAM laws in some countries.
-The client guarantees that any addresses entered manually in the system are done so with the permission of the email address owner.
-Unsubscribe links are mandatory for all messages sent from the system.
-Payments to be made by company check.
Cancellation / Refund Policy
-JDIT may remove any product (website, email, mail list manager, custom application) from the Internet if the client is behind payment for over 2 months from the date of the last invoice for that product.
-At least 3 notices (including the initial invoice) must be given before such removal.
-The client may cancel the contract at any time, with the understanding that no refunds will be given for previously paid invoices and no website source files (except paid-for custom development) will be provided to the client, unless the 2 year mark from the date of the first invoice has been passed and all invoices for that 2 year period have been paid.
